NEW HAVEN - Nov. 17 has been declared Buckley Wynne & Parese Day in the city, following a proclamation from Mayor Toni Harp, according to a release. The proclamation coincided with the law firm’s name change to Buckley Wynne & Parese.
“The lawyers at this firm are at the forefront of their respective fields of practice, and are champions for families and individuals who have been harmed,” Harp’s office said of the firm, which dates back to 1881.
According to attorney John Buckley Jr., “We wanted to add Attorney John Parese’s name to the firm to more formally acknowledge him as a part of our family. He shares our core values and traditions, and we see him as an important part of our future,” the release said.
Parese, immediate past president of the New Haven County Bar Association, handles cases involving personal injury, product liability, medical and legal malpractice and insurance litigation, the release said. Parese joined the firm in 2007.
In the proclamation, the mayor’s office expressed appreciation for the firm’s contributions to the city, including “programs to mentor inner city youth, volunteer legal services at local libraries, and supporting homeless shelters and many other charitable organizations,” the release said.
